[CIL] – At Compare Infobase Ltd, one of the business model involves incubation and sale of online businesses. Based upon a lucrative business idea, we develop an online business on it using our own investments. The project is evolved for anything between 1 year to 10 years (based on how much return we expect after the disinvestments and business prospect) and once the business gets profitable we sell it off at a premium. [CIL] – We sell sites that are start-ups to sites that have over 5-6 years of trailing data of traffic and earnings on them. Prices of our projects range from minimum of USD 2550 to millions of USD.

5.How do you calculate the price of a site?

[CIL] – The price of a site is based on various parameters like :

• Domain name (age, length, TLD type, marketability etc.)

• Depth of the website

• Google, Alexa, Compete, Quantcast, Ranking etc. data

• Backlinks in Google and Yahoo

• Search Engine Ranking

• Trailing traffic details

• Trailing earnings details …. Etc.

6.What are the current earnings of the website?

[CIL] – The earnings of the website depends on the age and depth of the project. These earnings are spread from about less than USD 1 per day to more than USD 2500 per day (during peak business seasons). 7.Where does the website earn from? Do you have any proof of earning?

[CIL] – All the websites listed for sale have majority share of their earnings from Google AdSense program. Other sources of income include providing publishing role services to other Media networks like Kontera, Komli, Tribal Fusion etc. Few of these websites also run Affiliate Programs from various 3 rd party providers. Proof of earnings can be provided through screen shots or using technology of Gotomypc.com etc.

8.Is there any financing possible?

[CIL] – We are open to deals with upfront payment only.

9.What is the mode of payment?

[CIL] – Payments can be made in either of the following ways:

• Telegraphic Transfer

• Online Payment Gateway system

• Demand Draft

• Paypal

• Bankers Cheque / Check

• Bank Transfers

For sites with price of USD 25,000 or larger, we also accept Escrow payment mechanism. Once we finalize a deal, we pass on the payment mode to you with all the details.

10.What is included in the website sale package?

[CIL] – The sale of the website includes transfer of ownership of the domain name and content (both textual and graphical) to the buyer. The buyer also gets full access to the FTP login and domain name control panel. The buyer may also decide to host the website in the same server or shift it to a new server. The commercials may change in case buyer decides to continue to host the site at our server.

11.Is there any warranty / guarantee with the sale?

[CIL] – There is no warranty / guarantee associated with the sale of the website. However, if the buyer agrees to enter ina a contract with Compare additionally towards maintenance and promotion of the project, then Compare provides warranty in the form of stability and organic growth of the project.

12.What is the traffic? Do you have any proof of traffic?

13.Would your company be reusing the template?

[CIL] – With sale of the website, we transfer the IPR of the website to the buyer. The website's template is never reused.

14.Would your company be reusing the content?

[CIL] – With sale of the website, we also transfer the copyright ownership of the content to the buyer. The content is never reused.

15.What all technology is there on the website?

[CIL] – Most of the websites listed for sale have been developed in HTML on Linux platforms. These websites follow a directory structure with individual files getting added onto the folder that they belong to. Forms on these websites are usually handled using PHP.

16.What are the maintenance services you provide & their charges?

[CIL] – The maintenance charges for a website depends upon the size of the project. Usually the maintenance charges are in the bracket of USD 500 per month to USD 7500 per month.

17.How does the site sale process take place?

[CIL] – Usually the site sale process happens in the following manner ;

Prospective sends a query by filling up a form
More details on the project are provided to the prospective
NDA is signed and further details are provided leading to the sale of the website
Due diligence takes place for authentication of the data provided
Pricing negotiations gets completed
Payment mode is finalized; Escrow process is finalized, if applicable, in case of large sized transactions.
Payment is received and Website is released simultaneously as per Escrow process, if any.
Domain name control and website access is immediately provided within 48-72 hours.
Statement of Account sent. Transaction is closed.

Buyer is given 30 days time within which period he can shift the site to his own server. In case he wants Compare to continue to host the site for him, then as per the commercials agreed upon, the site will remain hosted at our existing server itself.

18.What is the ownership pattern of the website?

[CIL] – All the websites listed are 100% owner by Compare Infobase Limited and its subsisdiaries.

19.What are the resources required to maintain the website?

[CIL] – Based upon the volume of the project it might take 1/3 rd man-month to 5 man-months to retain the traffic and earnings of the website as during the time of the sale. Many sites have enormous growth potential and further investment of resources can enhance revenue returns from the website, beyond the levels that the site is at, currently.

20.Do you do Search Engine Optimization?

[CIL] – Compare Infobase specializes in the entire gamut of SEO process. Both the onsite and offsite procedures are followed to generate enriching result for the buyers. Compare Infobase has been successfully executing various projects in which SEO services play a major role.

21.Where is your office based? How big is your team?

[CIL] – Compare Infobase Ltd. is headquartered in New Delhi , India . It has two regional offices in India and an overseas office in San Jose , California . In the United States , we operate under the name of Compare Infobase USA . We also operate another mapping business division in USA by the name of MapXL. The total team strength is about 170 people. 22.What about the domain name extensions? TLDs

[CIL] – The domain name extensions associated with a website sale can be handed over the buyer, if interested at an additional cost. Otherwise, we commit not to develop competing websites on these domain names for a period of 2 years.

23.How long does the whole process take?

[CIL] – Including the payment process through Escrow.com, it usually takes about 10-12 working days for executing a bigger deal. For smaller size deals, it usually happens within 1-2 days. In the above time-frame the handing over of the website is done.

24.Do you sell only the content?

[CIL] – As per requirement, we can also sell the content of the website only. We also develop content for websites on client requirement basis.

25.Do you give the source code of the technologies?

[CIL] – We do provide the source code of the technologies in the website after the sales transaction is over.

26.Would you assist in back linking?

[CIL] – We do provide for SEO services – both Onsite and Offsite – as per client requirements. Based on the requirements, same can be worked out and commercially quoted.

27.What about the back links from your internal sites?

[CIL] – As part of the negotiations, these backlinks maybe allowed to remain for your website for a specific time-frame; after which these backlinks will be charged at mutually agreeable rates.

28.Do you offer buyback?

[CIL] – Buyback offer is limited only to spefic premium websites in our network.

29.Do you confirm all records live before the final price?

[CIL] – Yes, we authenticate all the records that we share with you while negotiating a deal. The due diligence period is mutually decided and followed upon. We also use technology like www.gotomypc.com while in the due diligence process.
